Coming Soon…
NOTE: Abroadia is currently working to set up the scholarships. We hope to offer them for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Let’s face it, these days it is not cheap to study abroad. Abroadia understands this and has allocated funds to be awarded to students who plan to study on one of our programs. Scholarships may be applied to summer, semester, or other Abroadia-designed programs. Students who are receiving scholarships to take part in faculty-led programs designed by their college or university and Abroadia are not eligible for the Abroadia scholarships. Interested students may apply for one, but not all three scholarships.
Finger Lakes Abroad (FLX Abroad) Scholarship
Students enrolled at a college or university in the Finger Lakes region (NY) are eligible for this scholarship. Apply!
Pablo & Nieves Bueker Scholarship
Pablo founded the BCA Quito program years ago with his wife Nieves, and was an inspired international educator and Latin Americanist. Students who will study in Ecuador with Abroadia may apply for this scholarship. On February 19, 2025, Nieves passed away and we would like to honor her memory by awarding this scholarship to a deserving student. Who will that be?
“Aliados” Scholarship
An “aliado” (ally) is an institution that has worked closely with Abroadia over the years to send students students abroad. In appreciation of these relationships Abroadia awards one scholarship per year to students nominated by these institutions.
How can you become an Abroadia “aliado”? There are two ways:
1) Send students on one of Abroadia’s programs or work with Abroadia to create a faculty-led program abroad;
2) Invite Abroadia to your campus study abroad fair.
Hugh Thompson Scholarship
On March 16, 1968 this man made the courageous and extremely unpopular decision to stop the My Lai Massacre in Vientam. He paid a steep price for his courage. Learn more about him HERE. Abroadia offers this scholarship to students have served or are currently serving in the US military.
Dr. James Skelly Scholarship
Former Director of The Baker Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies (Juniata College) from 2012 to 2015.
Jim advocated for strengthening the connection between education abroad and peace studies through invigorating the former with a more intentional focus on creating prepared global citizens. He led Brethren Colleges Abroad’s focus on peace and justice programming.
This scholarship is for students who are majoring in Peace and Conflict Studies and want to study abroad.
